Praise for 3rd Stone
“I was asked to secure a band for a friend’s “Significant” Birthday Celebration. Knowing that he is a fan of the blues, the first group that came to my mind was 3rd Stone. And, I was correct. The band “delivered the notes” leaving people wanting more with each completed song!

My experience with the group went back to the evening when Buddy Guy was playing in the Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and asked if anyone in the audience wanted to join him on stage and “exchange some licks with him.” Anthony was ten-years old at the time and accepted the challenge and kept up with Guy note-for-note as he responded to more and more complicated riffs. Buddy came to me off stage and said “He’s a ‘plant’ isn’t he?” Having no idea that Buddy was going to ask for anyone from the audience to join him, there was no way that I could have set a ‘plant’ in the audience to assume this role. The rest as they say, is history.

3rd Stone with Anthony, West, Eli and Steve complement each other with perfect balance. Their original tunes equal, if not surpass, the blues covers that they accomplish so thoroughly. Their compositions have funk, rhythm and rock mixed harmoniously to create a new, yet familiar sound. This is a group to watch out for. The sky is their limit."

"After seeing 3rd Stone for the first time at the Micanopy Fall Harvest Festival, I knew I had to present this band somewhere, somehow. Shortly after catching them in Micanopy, I needed an act to open for Robin Trower at the Sunrise Theatre in Fort Pierce. It was an obvious decision to pair up one of rock's legendary guitarists with 3rd Stone, one of whose members is Anthony Kavouklis...a young prodigy and guitar wizard at the age of 11 who blew me away at first sound sight and sound. Aside from Anthony's obvious gift, he is surrounded by three other very talented musicians who can rock along with the best of them. When 3rd Stone played the Sunrise Theatre with Robin Trower, my faith and recognition of their talent was reinforced by a sold-out audience when the entire crowd gave them a standing ovation at the end of their set. Being in the business of presenting artists for 35 years (2000+ acts....everyone from Elton John, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, George Benson, to Billy Joel), pairing Anthony Kavouklis and 3rd Stone with Robin Trower reminded me of when I paired the then little known Derek Trucks Band with Bob Dylan in 1993 with the same magic result. 3rd Stone is one very talented band and fact that there is a 11 year-old axe man who plays well beyond his years makes them even more memorable. Follow Anthony Kavoulklis and 3rd Stone and you will see history in the making!"
