Genre busting 3rd Stone blends rock, funk, hip-hop, reggae and West African rhythms into a highly addictive sonic stew that is sure to make your body move! 3rd Stone came together in the summer of 2006 after then 10 year old guitarist Anthony Kavouklis' impromptu standing ovation performance with blues legend Buddy Guy. Since then, the band has shared the stage with multiple national acts while capturing the hearts of an enthusiastic and rapidly growing fan base. 3rd Stone offers something for everyone with amazing guitar and keyboard riffs from Anthony Kavouklis, outstanding vocal harmonies from Quintina Crawford and Big Za Rosado, and original tunes bearing a truly positive message.
The band is currently at work recording their second studio album which will be released Spring 2011.

Anthony Kavouklis
Guitar/Keys
Anthony began playing guitar at age 5, and made his stage debut at age 10 with legendary blues guitarist Buddy Guy. At the show, Buddy Guy strolled through the audience and offered young audience member Anthony a string to pluck. Buddy was told that Anthony could play, and invited him to join him on the stage. Before the end of the show, the Phillips Center for the performing Arts in Gainesville, Florida was treated to a blistering rendition of Voodoo Chile and offered young Anthony a standing ovation for his efforts. Word of his precocious performance quickly circled the globe and within weeks, 3rd Stone Band was born.
Now 14, Anthony enjoys incorporating a wide variety of influences into his music from the ethnic rhythms of West Africa, to the complex modal jazz melodies of John Coltrane and all points in between. Anthony and 3rd Stone appear regularly at venues and festivals throughout the southeast sharing the stage with numerous national acts. Anthony plays electric, acoustic, and 12 string guitars, bass guitar, bouzouki, sitar, keyboards and piano.

Quintina "Q" Crawford
Vocals/Percussion
Vocalist Quintina Crawford discovered her musical gift in 5th grade when she won her first talent contest receiving a standing ovation. At the age of 12, she was accepted into the Dilliard School for Performing Arts in Ft. Lauderdale where she received formal vocal training and extensively studied several musical disciplines. An audience favorite, Quintina has been known to bring tears the the audiences' eyes with her amazing vocal virtuosity and expansive range.

Jose "Big Za" Rosado
Vocals/Percussion
Big Za is the primary song writing force of 3rd Stone. Za has been on the music scene since the age of 14 performing as a DJ in clubs in south Florida, and as an on air personality on several radio stations for a wide variety of genres. He brings to the band an extensive knowledge of a broad spectrum of sounds that are instrumental in creating the unique sound 3rd Stone is seeking. |
Sean Patrick McGuire
Drums/Vocals
The rhythm section is led by Sean McGuire on drums. Sean comes from a family that has always immersed him in music. His father, an accomplished drummer and guitarist, and mother, a pianist, are both teachers that have traveled the world with their profession. During these travels Sean was exposed to a vast variety of world music which he has learned and in turn has influenced the music of 3rd Stone dramatically. Sean began playing drums at age 5 preferring to eat his breakfast on the drum kit over a breakfast table. As a teenager living in Cameroon, West Africa, Sean studied the art of the Bakutsi style of drumming for two years with an expert in that style. His tight rhythms bring something to 3rd Stone's sound that makes it stand out from the rest.

Jonah Henderson
Bass Guitar
Jonah is the most recent addition to the band, joining 3rd Stone in December 2010. Jonah began studying classical guitar and bass at the age of 9, with his first performance in a band at age 11. At age 17, Jonah is the second youngest member of the band and attends college courses while pursuing his career as a professional musician. |
